Durban

Known for its gorgeous sunny beaches; relaxed, cosmopolitan atmosphere; warm, friendly residents; business opportunities; nightlife and scenery, Durban has been delighting visitors for many years. Nomad Africa Adventure tours offers some wonderful Durban tours allowing visitors to enjoy all of the city’s must-see attractions.

Durban’s sophisticated city is the ideal place to shop or you could visit one of the many top restaurants on offer, or enjoy a delicious cocktail or two at one of the numerous bars. Some of the best shopping spots are Grey Street and the Warwick Triangle, while arts and crafts can be found at beach front stalls set up all along the Golden Mile. Stroll down the Golden mile, and sink your toes into the soft sand of Durban’s stunning beaches, and find a deckchair and relax with a good book while working on your tan.

Durban’s Botanic Gardens are world renowned, and their beauty and serenity is guaranteed to fill you with a sense of peace and tranquillity as you wander around looking at the stunning flowers and spotting sunbirds flitting from plant to plant. Take a tour of the garden and learn about its history-its origin can be traced back to colonial times, when it was created in 1849 in order to conduct trials for potentially profitable commercial crops. The gardens now house a mix of African, Asian and American plants and trees and are known as one of Durban’s treasures. If you are lucky your visit may coincide with one of the Durban Botanic Garden’s Music by the Lake evenings, where you can close your eyes and listen to the haunting music played by KZN’s Philharmonic Orchestra, which is enhanced by the stunning setting.

If you’re in an adventurous mood you could enjoy the exciting atmosphere of some of Durban’s main attractions.

Drive along Victoria Embankment and see some of Durban’s famous buildings of historical significance, such as the Natal Museum and City Hall. Make some time to pop in at the Victoria Street Market, which is a colourful feast for the eyes and your appetite, with delicious foods and spices on offer.

Durban is a vibrant city, which will have something to satisfy everyone, from the stunning golden beaches drenched in sunlight and the lush vegetation which supports an abundance of birds and wildlife, to the busy bars and bustling nightlife. Take a tour of Durban and explore everything it has to offer.
