Overview

Embarking on a journey that spans over 2500km along the sun-kissed Eastern shoreline of Africa, we’re stepping into the picturesque realm of Mozambique – the embodiment of a sublime beach getaway. Your tropical daydreams come alive at the azure waters of Bazaruto Island and the warm sands of Tofo beach, epitomizing a beachcomber’s paradise of sun, sea, and endless relaxation.

With the energizing ‘Escape to Mozambique’ tour setting sail, we part ways with the vibrant cityscape of Maputo. Our path unwinds through quaint villages, past lush plantations of coconut, sugar cane, and cashew, guiding us to the visually arresting, palm-speckled shores of Barra Beach. Unwind amidst the golden sands that meet the Indian Ocean, delve into a marine expedition, or wander the iconic Tofo – a locale renowned for its thriving market, bustling beach bars, and idyllic beaches.

Whether you indulge in beachside leisure, embark on a horseback adventure, or plunge into an ocean safari to revel in the mesmerizing underwater spectacle, you’re in for an extraordinary experience. Swim alongside whale sharks, watch the unique spectacle of manta rays at a cleaning station, or simply soak up the sun.

Next on our itinerary is the ancient town of Inhambane, a relic of the erstwhile slave trade. Its quaint streets, animated market, and myriad sidewalk cafes enhance the town’s historical allure. The journey from here takes us to Vilanculos, the launchpad to the ethereal Bazaruto archipelago.

We glide across the ocean on a traditional dhow, heading for Bazaruto. This island haven invites you to savor freshly caught seafood on the beach, wiggle your toes in the smooth, white dunes, and snorkel amidst a kaleidoscope of marine life in its crystal-clear waters.

Our northern escapade concludes, and we find ourselves heading back towards Maputo. A refreshing late-afternoon stroll on Chidenguele beach, accompanied by the mesmerizing colors of sundown, perfectly encapsulates our time on Mozambique’s pristine shores.

After a week of immersing ourselves in Mozambique’s coastal wonders, we find ourselves back in Maputo, where the journey began. For those keen to uncover the city’s Portuguese roots, we recommend extending your stay for a day or two to explore and absorb the vibrant energy of the capital.
