Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be transported to Chanya Lodge in Moshi, offering modern African décor rooms and a sustainable operation, just 45 minutes away from the airport. Your adventure begins with a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, where diverse wildlife awaits, followed by a stay at Kirurumu Manyara Lodge, boasting spectacular views and tented accommodations. The journey continues to the Serengeti National Park through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a stay at Baobab Serengeti Camp, located near former gold mining areas now teeming with wildlife. Explore the Seronera Valley’s diverse animal life, then experience the Ngorongoro Crater’s dense wildlife population, staying at Rhino Lodge. Your safari concludes with a game drive in Tarangire National Park, known for its stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife, and a stay at Tarangire Simba Lodge, before heading back to Arusha. This itinerary blends thrilling game drives with comfortable lodge stays, providing an immersive experience in Tanzania’s natural beauty and wildlife.

Day 1

Transfers – Airport Transfer Kilimanjaro (JRO) – Moshi

You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and our driver will bring you to your Hotel in Moshi.

Chanya Lodge – Standard Room (Full Board) for 1 night

Location: Chanya Lodge is situated in a quiet location, 4 km from the central town of Moshi and is therefore an optimal starting point for mountain tours, as well as for safaris and excursions in the Kilimanjaro region. The lodge operates with a good sustainability concept and is quickly accessible by inexpensive cab from the city center. Kilimanjaro International Airport can be reached by transfer in 45 minutes. Arrivals and departures are possible at any time of the day. Accommodation: The 25 spacious rooms are all friendly, bright and furnished in modern African decor. All have comfortable beds with mosquito nets, fans, storage, seating, and private spacious bathrooms with hot water and toilet. Restaurant: The restaurant offers a delicious selection of international and Indian dishes and in the bar you have the opportunity to toast to an unforgettable tour. In the restaurant area there is free wi-fi for every visitor.

Day 2

Lodgesafari – Tanzania Classic – Moshi – Lake Manyara National Park, Game Drive

You will be picked up at your hotel and will go on a three-hour drive to the East African Rift in the Lake Manyara National Park. When you get there, the roof will be opened up for the first game drive. You will cross the forest and keep your eyes open for monkeys of all different species, elephants lumbering between the trees and many other inhabitants of the forest. You are certain to encounter large herds of buffalos, zebras, wildebeests and giraffes in the grass covered flood plains. Also look at the trees – you might see a lion dozing on the branches. At the marshy riversides of the Lake Manyara salt lake, you will find water birds like flamingos, pelicans and cormorants.

Kirurumu Manyara Lodge – Standard Room (Full Board) for 1 night

Location: Kirurumu Manyara Lodge is situated on the edge of the Rift Valley and offers a magnificent panoramic view over Lake Manyara. Behind Kirurumu the gate to the Ngorongoro Crater opens. Accommodation: The camp consists of 27 tented houses, 2 suites and 2 family houses. All have their own veranda. The tented houses are equipped with beds, mosquito net, chairs and a private bathroom with shower and toilet. Restaurant: In the open dining tent a great breakfast is offered, including freshly baked bush bread. Dinner is prepared from regional dishes. With a drink from the bar and the campfire you can end the day. W-Lan is offered in designated areas.

Day 3

Lodgesafari – Tanzania Classic – Lake Manyara – Serengeti National Park, Game Drive

After breakfast, you will head to the famous Serengeti National Park. On your way, you will pass the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the “African Eden”, which has a very rich variety of vegetation and species. Soft hills, dormant volcanoes and stunning jungles provide a breath-taking view. During migration from January to March, millions of wildebeests and zebras pass the Serengeti Plains and the edges of Ngorongoro. When you enter Serengeti through the Nabi Gate, you will have an impressive first impression.

Baobab Serengeti Camp – Standard Room (Full Board) for 2 nights

Location: The Serengeti Baobab Camp is beautiful settled at the Orangi River, just 45 minutes from the Seronera Airstrip. The place used to be a gold mining station about 100 years back and luckily today belongs only to the wildlife of Serengeti. Accommodation: The Lodge has 9 tents furnished with tents with solar power, chairs, suitcase rack and a bathroom with shower and toilet. Restaurant: There is a mess tent with a bar where all meals will be provided in form of a buffet or a set meal. From here you can enjoy the sundowner with a drink and watch different kind of animals nearby.

Day 4

Lodgesafari – Tanzania Classic – Serengeti National Park, Game drive

This day begins in the heart of Serengeti, the Seronera Valley, among umbrella thorn acacias and huge fig trees. The range of hills in the north feed several waterholes which attract numerous impalas, antelopes, reedbucks and baboons. Hippos splash around in the water, leopards rest on the acacias and lions take naps in the high grass. This day is completely devoted to game drives in Serengeti. You can decide how you would like to organize the day.

Day 5

Lodgesafari – Tanzania Classic – Serengeti National Park, Game Drive – Ngorongoro Crater

If you are up for it, you can go for an early morning game drive today. We start right after a coffee and a small snack. The sunrise might bring a great light for your holiday pictures in the Serengeti.  Often hyenas, active hippos are seen and maybe also a pride of lions having breakfast. Experience the unique atmosphere in the savannah where the air is fresh and clean. After brunch, you will go on your next game drive and will take some breaks for pictures heading to the Ngorongoro Crater.

Rhino Lodge – Standard Room (Full Board) for 1 night

Location: The Rhino Lodge is located on the edge of the crater within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, only a few hundred meters away from the Grzimek memorial stone. Compared to other accommodations near the Ngorongoro Crater, the Rhino Lodge at reasonable price, the best address to avoid a long travel distance and spend as much time on the game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. Equipment: The Rhino Lodge offers 24 simple rooms with a chimney. They have a double bed, a private bathroom with hot water and a welcoming porch overlooking the stunning tropical rainforest. Restaurant: The restaurant and the lounge have two fireplaces and many candles with a homely atmosphere. There is good local and international Cuisine served.

Day 6

Lodgesafari – Tanzania Classic – Ngorongoro Crater, Game Drive – Tarangire National Park

Early birds can enjoy the spectacular sunrise above the crater. You will then go down the steep hills to the crater floor of Ngorongoro. Keep your cameras at the ready, as there is nowhere else with a higher animal density. The crater, which was declared a UNESCO, World Heritage site, is a romping ground for almost all species of the East African wildlife. With a little bit of luck, you will have the chance to see the endangered black rhino, which is part of the “big five” together with the buffalo, lion, elephant and leopard! In the afternoon, you will leave the crater and will head to the Tarangire National Park.

Tarangire Simba Lodge – Standard Room (Full Board) for 1 night

Location: The Tarangire Simba Lodge is a Tented Camp Lodge near the north-western entrance to Tarangire National Park. The facility is located on the edge of Lake Burunge. The view from the pool, from the observation deck or from your terrace is breathtaking. Facilities: The 20 comfortably furnished tents have large double beds, a seating group, a large bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower, hot water and power supply around the clock. Each tent has a veranda. There is a pool and a bar. Restaurant: The restaurant offers excellent international and local cuisine. Also, from here you have a great view over the beautiful landscape.

Day 7

 

Lodgesafari – Tanzania Classic – Tarangire National Park, Game Drive – Arusha

Another game drive in Tarangire National Park is on the agenda and even though there is no WIFI available in the vehicle, you will get a much better connection. The nature is impressive. And with every detail you learn about the national parks and nature, you will understand how important it is to protect these fragile areas in this region. After the game drive in the morning you will drive to Arusha. Driving distance: 150 km    Game drive: 3-4 h    Driving time: 4 h

On Day 1, you’ll be picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to Moshi, where you will stay at Chanya Lodge in a standard room for one night. The journey continues on Day 2 with a lodgesafari to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive, followed by an overnight stay at Kirurumu Manyara Lodge in a standard room. Day 3 marks the next phase of the adventure, taking you from Lake Manyara to the Serengeti National Park for another thrilling game drive, after which you’ll spend two nights at Baobab Serengeti Camp in a standard room. Day 4 is dedicated to exploring the Serengeti National Park with a game drive. On Day 5, the safari leads you to the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive, with an overnight stay at Rhino Lodge in a standard room. Day 6 entails a game drive from Ngorongoro Crater to Tarangire National Park, culminating in a night at Tarangire Simba Lodge in a standard room. Finally, Day 7 brings another game drive in Tarangire National Park before your departure to Arusha, concluding the lodgesafari service with the Tanzania Classic Group Departure.
