Overview

The Swaziland & Kruger tour is the secret gem in our constellation of tours. Often underrated or not properly understood, this tour is such a wonderful surprise for all of our travellers. If you’re looking for “safari”, this tour has it all! We start off with a boat cruise in a World Heritage Site where you will see hippo, crocodiles and a lot of water birds. We then visit Hluhluwe National Park in KwaZulu-Natal and Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary in Swaziland where you will see rhino, elephant and a variety of other animals. We then travel to Kruger National Park. Experience the thrill of being on safari, observing the big five as well as zebras, giraffe and rhinos and be inspired by an authentically African atmosphere in the largest game reserve in South Africa. Our return journey to Johannesburg takes us via the scenic Panorama Route where we will visit God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the Three Rondavels.

    Hluhluwe – Umfolozi Game Reserve

We set out early this morning for a game drive in the nearby Hluhulwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, one of the last strongholds of the endangered Rhinoceros. The reserve has played a critical role in the preservation of these endangered animals, both Black and White Rhinoceros occur in the park and many populations owe their ongoing existence to animals that have been raised here. While Rhinoceros are the most famous of the parks inhabitants, the park also provides a home to many other species, including the Big-5 that we all hope to see. Returning to our lodging for a siesta, we freshen up for an afternoon boat cruise on St Lucia estuary.

    Day 03

Tonight we setup camp on the doorstep of the Kruger National Park and the next two days will be spent game viewing in South Africa’s most famous National Park.

Entering the park early this morning we spend a full day on safari in the park, with luck we may even catch sight of the Africa’s famous Big-5. Truly the flagship of the South African national parks, Kruger is home to an impressive number of species: 336 trees, 49 fish, 34 amphibians, 114 reptiles, 507 birds and 147 mammals. The Nomad truck gives us an elevated view and increases our chance to spot the animals.
