Ifaty Beach
Ifaty is a coastal area where you’ll find villages such as Mangily and Mandico Rano. It is only 25 kilometres north of Tulear, but because the roads are bad it will take the visitor about two hours to drive to the villages. Even though your trip there might be somewhat bumpy, it will be worth it because what waits on the other side is a gorgeous aquamarine lagoon accompanied by sugar-white beaches and an unforgettable island atmosphere.
Many trekking tours end at the city of Tuleur and this makes Ifaty Beach the next logical next destination. At Ifaty Beach you’ll find numerous luxurious accommodations and many fun activities to enjoy with family and friends – Ifaty is paradise and you will relax like never before. This is a great place for beginner’s snorkelling where you can observe wrasse, cowfish, angelfish and pipefish.
Except for snorkelling there are many other activities at Ifaty Beach. Between July and August visitors can enjoy whale watching and you can organise boat rides through your hotel and enjoy beautiful trips on the serene lagoon.
Your days can be filled by amazing island activities such as diving, horse riding and hikes at Ifaty Beach resorts. Remember to visit the village, Ambotsibotsike, on the road to Tuleur, which is a “must-see” because of its wonderful mangrove. Enjoy horseback riding, mountain biking and quad biking at this beautiful retreat which will make for the perfect day trip with your friends or family.
