Lake Nakuru National Park
The beautiful Lake Nakuru can be found in the Great Rift Valley in Kenya. It is protected by the Lake Nakuru National Park and is one of the main centres of attraction in Kenya. The Lake Nakuru National Park was established in the early 1990’s to protect the lake and its surrounding mountains, however since then the park has extended its borders to include the surrounding savannahs, making it an ideal place for any tourist to visit. Lake Nakuru is a soda lake which lies 1754m above sea level. It is most famous for its large flamingo population which covers the shores of the lake with a light shade of pink and is attracted to the expanse of algae in the lake. Black rhinos were recently introduces into the area, however when visiting, guests will also have the opportunity to observe giraffes, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and pythons along with an abundance of antelope and birdlife.
